What Is Mycotherapy?

In Asia, medicinal mushrooms have been used for millennia in folk medicine, particularly in traditional Chinese medicine. Western science has also begun to study them and has now recognized their properties within the field of mycotherapy. This has led us to understand their effectiveness in preventing numerous diseases.

International scientific research has focused primarily on the anticancer, antimicrobial, metabolic-balancing, and immune-boosting effects of mycotherapy.

More generally, it can be said that these mushrooms act as immunomodulators of the immune system, strengthening the body’s vital functions as well as the health of the stomach, liver, and the entire digestive system. They help keep cholesterol and blood sugar levels under control.

They are also used to boost vitality and promote mental and physical well-being, and—when combined with a healthy lifestyle—they support and strengthen the body.

NATURETICAformulates and manufactures products with high concentrations of active ingredients and phytocomplexes, always selecting the highest-quality raw materials in keeping with its philosophy of natural products.

The type of raw material we use is known as “Full Spectrum,” meaning a mushroom powder consisting of mycelium, fruiting bodies, primordia (immature mushrooms), spores, and extracellular compounds produced throughout the mushroom’s entire life cycle; this allows the product to exert a “comprehensive” effect because it is rich in all the active ingredients essential to its effectiveness.

With the exception of the Chaga mushroom, which is wild-harvested (a key requirement for ensuring the presence of active compounds within the mushroom), all others are organically grown and are therefore certified “organic,” guaranteeing the high quality standards we seek for all our products.

The main components of our mushrooms are polysaccharides, and the Full Spectrum variety contains more than 50% of them; these polysaccharides include β-(1,3-1,6)-glucans, α-glucans, and other free polysaccharides, as well as other components such as mineral salts (iron, zinc, copper, manganese, magnesium, potassium, calcium, germanium), B vitamins, essential amino acids, sterols, substances with antihistamine activity, adenosine, and triterpenes.

The effectiveness of mycotherapy is supported both by its use over the past millennia—especially in Chinese and Japanese traditions—and by recent, sophisticated scientific studies conducted by the world’s most prestigious universities.
