Tea Tree Oil: The Solution for Inflammation

Fever, cold sores, cystitis, pharyngitis, and canker sores.
These ailments, which can be more or less bothersome, have one thing in common: they all develop as a result of an attack of varying nature (viral, bacterial, or external) on our body, and they are all linked to a process called “inflammation.”

Many of the conditions we identify as “diseases” are nothing more than necessary responses by our bodies, which—when pushed to the limit—are forced to trigger a full-blown emergency response.
Keeping this principle in mind allows us to view inflammatory conditions not as fires to be extinguished, but as rescue operations that we should facilitate.

The Benefits of Tea Tree Oil.

So, to let the illness run its natural course, we need to put out the real spark that started the fire. And if we could do that naturally, that would be even better, wouldn't it? 🌱

One of the best-known and most effective natural anti-inflammatories is undoubtedly tea tree oil: a blend that acts as a powerful agent capable of eradicating bacterial, viral, and fungal infections.

Although the name may be misleading, this plant has nothing to do with the tea plant. It is Melaleuca alternifolia, a tree native to Australia that belongs to the Myrtaceae family.

The oil extracted from it is used to treat many inflammatory conditions: skin conditions (such as blisters, burns, herpes, and insect bites); respiratory conditions (such as asthma, bronchitis, phlegm, and coughs); diseases of the urogenital system (such as vaginitis, cystitis, and various types of itching); and general illnesses such as the flu, the common cold, or a fever.

Uses and Applications of Tea Tree Oil.

We generally recommend always keeping a bottle of tea tree essential oilat home,because it proves to be very useful in many everyday situations. For example, to treat a sore throat, canker sores, and oral thrush, simply dilute 4 or 5 drops in a glass of water and use it as a mouthwash.

It's also great for pimples and insect bites: a drop of tea tree oil before bed will work its magic overnight. For bronchitis, coughs, or colds, it can be used for steam inhalations, which help clear the airways.

In general, it can be used undiluted, in small amounts, or diluted in aloe vera. For use in water (cleansing, douching, and warm baths), simply mix 20 drops of the essence with a tablespoon of sweet almond oil . Otherwise,

To diffuse the scent in a room, you can always add a few drops to a small pot of boiling water or use a dedicated essential oil diffuser.

Thanks to its benefits, tea tree oil is suitable for various uses in herbal medicine. It’s no coincidence that many Naturetica products contain this valuable extract—such as the Lip Balm with Calendula and Tea Tree, which soothes and provides relief for sensitive lips;

or the Tea Tree Plus antibacterial ointment, which has emollient and skin-regenerating properties; or Fresco, our Biodermic Intimate Cleanser, which purifies and sanitizes.
