Sore and swollen legs: our tips

The water is crystal clear.
The sun has just risen and the sound of the waves is almost imperceptible. Walking in the morning by the sea is a real balm not only for the soul, but also for the body.

You may have heard it said, "It's good for the circulation of the legs!" And you have always wondered why. But indeed you have noticed that in summer, when you get home in the evening, you feel your legs aching and swollen, come to think of it, you have also endured some unexpected cramps through gritted teeth.

But why do we suffer from painful and swollen legs more often in summer ?

It all depends on the circulation.

You have to imagine the venous circulation as a circuit, running all along our body. Under normal conditions, blood flows from the feet to the heart and pulmonary circulation to be "cleaned" and reoxygenated. But when temperatures rise, the superficial capillaries dilate, preventing the valves in the veins from functioning properly. This leads to real fluid stagnation in the legs, feet and ankles, and thus to an uncomfortable feeling of swelling and heaviness.

Remedies for sore and swollen legs

Movement is the first response. In addition to the heat, standing for a long time can also lead to circulation problems. This is the reason for the walk in the sea in the morning. The cool temperature of the water, along with the added physical exertion, increases blood pressure and helps stimulate circulation.

Other little tricks: if you sit for a long time for study or work, avoid keeping your legs crossed and stand up occasionally to reactivate your muscles.

Down with tight dresses! Make room for loose skirts that let you breathe. And try not to go overboard with shoes that are too low or too high, which, by loading weight on the forefoot, hinder the upward movement of fluids.

Another natural remedy that helps give you relief from sore and swollen legs is to practice a relaxing massage with Phyto Legs gel, our gel cream containing Horse Chestnut, Centella, Butcher's Broom, Bilberry, Red Grapevine and Menthol. These natural elements have vasoprotective properties on the skin's microcirculation. Plus, thanks to menthol and mint essential oil, you will feel an immediate sensation of freshness and relief.

And if the condition is particularly intense or you suffer from chronic venous insufficiency, you can add 1-2 capsules per day of our natural supplement Pyto Legs. The vasoconstricting and anti-inflammatory properties of its natural active ingredients help improve circulatory function and are useful in treating fragile capillaries.
