Echinacea Purpurea: uses, properties and curiosities of this medicinal plant

A purplish-colored flower that grows wild in North America.

Its beneficial effects were discovered by the Indians themselves, who used it to make infusions and to treat snake bites, wounds and infections.

We are talking about Echinacea Purpurea.

Curiosity and origin

The name "Echinacea" comes from the Greek word "echinos," meaning hedgehog, precisely because of the characteristic appearance of the flower's central cone.

Although it is recognized for its typical bright purple color, there are several varieties of this plant ranging from pink to red and white.

It belongs to the Asteraceae family, the same as chamomile flowers and daisies.

Echinacea extract is recognized for its antiviral, immune-stimulating, antibacterial properties.

There are numerous studies showing the effectiveness of this plant in activating the T-cell and natural killer response, which are responsible for our body's defenses.

These properties are related to the rich presence of active compounds such as polysaccharides, glycosides, flavonoids, and alkylamides.

That said, what is Echinacea used for? It is used primarily to prevent and treat colds and respiratory infections, but it can also be applied locally to speed healing of wounds and skin infections.

Mode of use.

Echinacea Purpurea extract is the basis of Winter Help Immuno Complex, the dietary supplement that helps boost the immune system.

In Immuno Complex we have combined not only Echinacea but also Cistus extract: this combination is effective in directly hindering the action of viruses and bacteria and counteracting the inflammatory response.

The 'supplement is supplemented with Vitamin C, Astragalus, Elderberry, Zinc and Copper, substances useful for normal functioning of the immune system.

For faster assimilation, we also recommend Echinacea Mother Tincture; 50 drops 2 or 3 times a day, away from meals, in a little water, corresponds to 0.9 g of the fresh plant.
