March has just dawned and spring is just around the corner. But today we pay one last tribute to the Citrus Month that has just passed, with an article dedicated to one of our favorite fruits: oranges.
There are many benefits of this fruit from Southeast Asia: thanks to their Vitamin C intake, oranges help boost immunity, protect the eyes and vision. They are a real boon for the cardiovascular system, as they lower levels of bad cholesterol.
Plus they are rich in fiber, stimulate the digestive system and promote the elimination of toxins. Those are enough reasons to add them to our diet, right?
Orange juicing is one of the most traditional ways to benefit the most from the active ingredients found in oranges. But in fact there are so many recipes that can help us incorporate this fruit into our lunches or dinners. A clarification must be made, however: although orange cakes or cookies are delicious, it is always a good idea to favor raw preparations to best preserve the beneficial properties contained within the fruit.
A salad of colors.
So, it's time to get rid of the sad bags of salad or lettuce from the fridge counter and start bringing some healthy color into our diet. We offer below 3 tasty salads you can make with oranges. Quick and great for our health .
Carrot and orange salad.
Ingredients:
4 oranges, 4 carrots, 60 grams pistachios (shelled and unsalted),
5 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon cumin powder.

First let's prepare the yogurt sauce. Place the 5 tablespoons of Greek yogurt in a bowl, grate in the zest of one orange, being careful not to get to the white part. Add a tablespoon of cumin powder, a pinch of salt and mix well. Peel the oranges and cut them into slices. Do the same with the carrots (you can also use a grater in this case). Place them together in a large bowl, season with a drizzle of oil, salt, pepper and the chopped pistachios. Enjoy with your yogurt sauce.
Salad of oranges, olives and onions.
Ingredients:
3/4 tarocco oranges, 110 g black olives, 80 grams red onions,
3 basil leaves, salt to taste, oil to taste, black pepper to taste.
First, cut the red onion into julienne and soak it in cold water for 10-15 minutes. It will serve to sweeten the flavor. Now cut the oranges into wedges and place them in a bowl along with the black olives. Once the wait is over, add the onion and fresh basil. Finally you will just season with oil, salt and pepper to taste.
Orange and beet salad.
Ingredients:
2 medium cooked beets, 2 blood oranges,
a few strands of chives, oil to taste, apple cider vinegar to taste.

Not everyone likes beets, but this dish tantalizes the palate of even the most wary. All you need to do is cut the oranges and beets into rounds, or into small cubes if you prefer a more compact format. Season with oil, a few drops of apple cider vinegar and a pinch of salt. Top it all off with a few strands of chives.
