Black cumin oil is an oil derived from the seeds of Nigella sativa. The seeds are also commonly known as black cumin. The nourishing black seed oil has been used for hundreds of years in the Middle East and South Asia as a natural remedy for a variety of ailments.
These small dark seeds are rich in vitamins (especially B1, B2, B3), minerals such as calcium, folic acid, iron, zinc, and copper, and other important substances such as oleic acid and linoleic acid.
Traditionally used to treat respiratory conditions, digestive problems, kidney and liver function, cardiovascular problems, skin diseases, immune support and general well-being.
In fact, today several scientific studies have highlighted the benefits of cumin. In particular its effectiveness in reducing fasting glucose in the treatment of diabetes and reducing blood pressure in cases of hypertension, as a natural antibacterial and more. Also excellent is its action towards the intestines, which it helps to detoxify, and in addition, due to the presence of thymoquinone, it seems it may also be able to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells.
This oil is also particularly useful for our beauty. For example, it can be used for the hair as a nourishing and anti-dandruff pack but also as a basic vegetable oil for aromatherapy massages. In addition, black cumin oil soothes inflamed skin, reduces the appearance of scars, and smooths dry skin. It can therefore also be useful in cases of psoriasis and eczema.
Caraway oil can be added directly to shampoos, conditioners and creams to improve the hydration and softness of skin and hair, thus alleviating dryness.
Black cumin oil should never be taken internally in cases of pregnancy since it may prematurely stimulate uterine contractions.
